The US Supreme Court overturned the provision that if a law is unclear or ambiguous, the courts must defer to a reasonable interpretation of that law by federal agencies.
Now the courts themselves must determine whether the agency has acted within its authority. The courts should no longer rely on the interpretation of the law by these agencies.
According to journalist Eleanor Terrett, this is good news for the cryptocurrency industry, as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will no longer be able to interpret laws regarding digital assets in its own way.
