Myanmar detains and controls 273 illegal immigrants in the Mawadi area again

On February 17, according to official Myanmar news, Myanmar authorities arrested 273 foreign nationals who illegally entered the country in the Myawaddy telecom fraud park. The Myanmar authorities have identified and detained the individuals and will further investigate them. From January 30 to February 17, Myanmar has detained a total of 1303 illegal foreign nationals, most of whom were involved in telecom fraud and online gambling. Currently, senior officials and representatives from Myanmar, China, and Thailand are taking action in the Myawaddy area to combat telecom fraud and online gambling crimes and are negotiating to repatriate the illegal foreign nationals to their home countries as soon as possible in accordance with the law.
