CryptoWorld News: The Codex desktop application has recently quietly rolled out a global dictation feature. Users can hold down the fn key to perform voice input in any macOS application, and the transcribed text will appear directly at the cursor position without switching to the Codex window. Previously, Codex's voice input was limited to within the application, requiring users to press ctrl+m when the input box was visible; the CLI version used the spacebar. The new feature extends dictation capabilities to the system level, overlapping directly with third-party global dictation tools like Wispr Flow. ChatGPT subscription users can access it without additional charges. Additionally, the settings page now includes a "recent dictations" list, making it easier for users to retrieve dictation content that was not entered correctly.
