The Israeli military reports that the head of Iran's military petroleum department was killed in an airstrike
The Israel Defense Forces issued a statement on the 2nd stating that Jamshid Eshaki, head of Iran’s military petroleum sector, was killed in an airstrike earlier this week on Tehran, Iran’s capital. The IDF said that the petroleum sector managed by Eshaki is an important part of Iran’s armed forces, providing funding for military activities through oil revenues. Eshaki has long been responsible for related financial operations and has participated in providing funding for military projects such as missile production. The IDF also stated that Eshaki was involved in financing Iran’s “Resistance Axis” allies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi armed groups in Yemen. (Xinhua News Agency)
