Lately, friends have been asking again: hardware wallets/multisig/social recovery — which one to choose? Honestly, it depends on whether you can handle the psychological pressure of “losing everything in one go.” For small amounts, casual use, and frequent interactions, don’t overcomplicate things; a hardware wallet is enough. The process of unplugging and signing may be a bit troublesome, but at least you won’t accidentally authorize a fake transaction out of carelessness.

For slightly larger assets or long-term storage, I prefer multisig, especially with your own device + backup device + trusted family members/another cold wallet. It’s slower, but you sleep better at night.

I think social recovery is quite suitable for people who “forget seed phrases and are afraid of fire or water damage,” but you need to think carefully first: are your “guardians” really reliable? If relationships change, it can get awkward. Recently, developers are excitedly discussing modular and DA layer solutions, while users are confused. Watching it feels a bit like watching a drama… No matter how innovative the narrative, it ultimately comes down to how to manage private keys. Anyway, don’t put all your eggs in one basket; splitting storage by size is more practical.
I’m off to work.
