Abstract generation in progress

According to XPeng Motors, on March 13th, Volkswagen and XPeng Motors (XPEV.US) officially began mass production of their first jointly developed model, the ID.8, at Volkswagen Anhui as scheduled. From signing the joint development technical cooperation agreement to mass production, only 24 months were needed.

It is reported that the ID.8 is Volkswagen’s first full-time connected all-electric full-size SUV, jointly developed by Volkswagen and XPeng, tailored specifically for the Chinese market demand. In terms of intelligent driving, the ID.8 will come standard with XPeng’s VLA full-scenario intelligent driving assistance system and Turing AI chip, with 1500 TOPs of autonomous driving computing power, capable of achieving enhanced Level 2 assisted driving. Based on the vehicle project collaboration, XPeng Motors and Volkswagen jointly developed the China Electronic Architecture (CEA) — Volkswagen Group’s first localized regional electronic and electrical control architecture in China. As the “smart brain” of the new generation of intelligent connected vehicles, CEA will be applied to all powertrain types of domestically produced Volkswagen models. The first model equipped with the CEA electronic and electrical architecture is planned to be launched this year.
