Two major regrets for men:

When they have the strength,
their financial resources haven’t kept up;
when they finally have confidence,
they’ve already lost the drive they had in those earlier days.
Two major regrets for women:
in their naive and tender youth,
they don’t know how to seize the light they want;
once the countless ships have sailed by,
that beam of light is no longer where it used to be.
It turns out that in this world,
it’s never about whose regrets are greater,
but that we always miss the version of ourselves that “fits”
at the right time.
In the first half of life, risking everything to earn money,
in the second half, using money to extend life;
when you’re young, holding onto dignity,
when you’re old, all that’s left are sighs.
In the end,
who isn’t carrying a whole body of regrets,
and slowly moving forward?
