According to Tokyo Electric Power Company of Japan, the No. 6 unit of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant, which is undergoing trial operation, triggered an alarm on the afternoon of the 12th local time, indicating a small leakage of electricity from the generator. TEPCO decided on the 13th to stop power generation and transmission for that unit to inspect the relevant situation. According to TEPCO, no abnormalities were found in the reactor, and it is still operating normally, with no safety issues. Additionally, TEPCO stated that it will assess whether the situation will affect the plan for the unit to begin commercial operation on the 18th of this month. (CCTV News)
