Russia Targets Oil Transit Infrastructure In Southern Ukraine For Second Day
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi reported this on Facebook.
“For two days in a row, Russian drones have been attacking oil transport infrastructure in southern Ukraine. Damage and destruction have been recorded at one of the pumping stations. Fortunately, no one was killed,” Koretskyi wrote.
He stressed that this was not the first attack on different parts of the oil transport system.
“With what purpose did the Russians deliberately strike and destroy the pumping station of the Druzhba oil pipeline in the city of Brody? Sooner or later we will learn the truth. But the reason for deliberate attacks on pumping stations in southern Ukraine is obvious – to prevent alternative supplies of non-Russian oil to Europe,” Koretskyi said.

He added that units of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service and company specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the strikes.
Overall, Russia has carried out more than 30 attacks on infrastructure facilities of the Naftogaz Group since the beginning of this year.
On January 27, Russian forces struck energy infrastructure in the Lviv region, halting the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline. According to First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, a fire severely damaged much of the pipeline’s internal equipment.
