Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Latin American and Caribbean countries have the right to independently choose their development paths and partners

On March 9th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked questions related to China’s relations with Latin American countries. In response, Guo Jiakun stated that I want to emphasize that Latin American and Caribbean countries are sovereign and independent nations, with the right to choose their development paths and partners independently. China has always adhered to the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, openness and inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, and has engaged in exchanges and cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries in various fields. China-Latin America cooperation is not driven by geopolitical calculations, is not targeted at third parties, and should not be disturbed or influenced by third parties. (CCTV News)
