People’s Financial News, March 11 — According to reports, on March 11 local time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement reaffirming its absolute jurisdiction over the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said that the United States and its partners have lost the right to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC stated, “Expres Room” is owned by Israel and flies the Liberian flag. After ignoring warnings from the IRGC Navy, the vessel was hit by Iranian gunfire and forced to stop that morning. The container ship “Mayuree Naree” was deliberately attempting to illegally cross the strait and ignoring warnings, and was struck by Iranian forces a few hours earlier. The statement emphasized that every inch of the waters in the Strait of Hormuz is under strict surveillance by the IRGC Navy, with no blind spots in control. The IRGC also stated that the United States and its allies have no right to pass through the strait. IRGC Navy Commander Ali Reza Tangsiri also said on social media that any ship wishing to pass through the Strait of Hormuz must obtain Iran’s permission. (CCTV News)
