On Thursday, due to the impact of the oil tanker attack in Iraqi waters causing oil prices to surge, US stock index futures and Asian stock markets experienced increased volatility, both declining. The S&P 500 futures fell by 1.1%, and major Asian stock indices dropped by 1.6%. After Iraq suspended operations at its oil ports, Brent crude oil prices broke through $100 per barrel. Bahrain also reported that Iran attacked its fuel tanks; Oman, for safety reasons, evacuated ships from a major export terminal.
