Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 11 — According to The Block, Aave founder Stani Kulechov published a statement outlining the future development path of the protocol, stating that the DAO governance model needs reform. He said that the current DAO operations are extremely difficult, “fighting with its own organizational structure every day,” with slow governance processes filled with weeks of forum discussions and multiple rounds of voting, while competitors are iterating quickly.

Kulechov pointed out that DAOs are prone to politicization, “participants take sides, follow the loudest voices, and form political alliances. When politicians win, the builders’ game is over.” He advocates that governance should focus on major protocol changes and treasury strategies—matters that truly require collective decision-making—while other issues fall under execution, which should be driven by organizational leaders.

These comments stem from recent Aave DAO governance disputes. Core contributors BGD Labs and ACI announced their withdrawal due to disagreements with Aave Labs over the “Aave Will Win” proposal. Kulechov emphasized that Aave needs to stay agile to capture the global decentralized lending market worth trillions of dollars and stated that he plans to build a long-term vision centered around the $AAVE token.
