U.S. officials delete post after claiming "Navy escorts oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz" Iran responds: purely a lie
On the 10th local time, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wight posted on social media that the U.S. Navy successfully escorted a tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the continuous flow of oil to global markets. However, the post was deleted shortly afterward.
A source said that the U.S. Navy has not provided escort for any tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Over the past week, the U.S. government has been discussing the timing and conditions for launching naval escort operations.
The commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy responded to the U.S. Energy Secretary’s statement, saying, “The so-called claim that the U.S. military escorted a tanker through the Strait of Hormuz is pure falsehood. Any actions by the U.S. and its allies will be thwarted within the range of Iran’s missiles and drones.”
