Huazhu Club Responds to Interview: Initiates Rectification and Announces Member Benefits

On February 11, the Beijing Consumers Association held a meeting with the operator of Huazhu Club, Hanting Starry Sky (Shanghai) Hotel Management Co., Ltd., regarding suspected unfair standard clauses in the Huazhu Club Member Service Agreement. The association pointed out that the company’s relevant clauses may exclude or restrict consumers’ main rights, harming consumers’ legitimate interests, and required the company to conduct a comprehensive self-inspection and make rectifications within a specified timeframe. In response, on February 12, Huazhu Club stated that it highly values and sincerely accepts the supervision and guidance of the Beijing Consumers Association. Protecting consumers’ legal rights and interests has always been Huazhu Club’s primary principle. The company has immediately initiated a comprehensive self-inspection and rectification of the relevant user agreements and will promptly adjust the arbitration jurisdiction provisions. Huazhu Club also pledged to optimize and improve the user feedback mechanism, regularly disclose the status of member rights protection, and further improve the consumer environment.
