Abstract generation in progress

The Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress held a press conference today focused on people’s livelihood. Lei Haichao, director of the National Health Commission, introduced that, based on professional advice, people over 50, long-term smokers, those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or with a family history of lung cancer should undergo low-dose spiral CT scans once a year; people over 50, overweight, with a history of smoking or a family history of colorectal cancer should have colonoscopy or fecal occult blood tests every 3 to 5 years; people over 45, heavy drinkers, those with gastric ulcers or a family history of stomach cancer should have gastroscopy every 3 to 5 years; women over 35 should have breast cancer screenings every 2 to 3 years, and those with a family history of breast or ovarian cancer can increase screening frequency. Cancer is not terrifying; the key is prevention and early detection and treatment. We will intensify early cancer screening efforts to provide convenient and accessible services for everyone.
