The Wise Are Indifferent

1. Cognition and Laws: High cognition does not mean being emotionless, but rather seeing through the cause-and-effect and laws of fate, understanding that human effort has its limits, and therefore being able to accept everything that happens and respecting the nature of things.
2. The Essence of True Strength: True strength is allowing everything to happen, not forcibly changing what cannot be changed, but rather controlling and resisting.
3. The Boundaries of Empathy: A master’s empathy is a deep understanding of others’ choices, not a desire to be a teacher; forced intervention or copying experiences can lead to deviations due to cognitive differences.
4. The Inertia of Fate: Human destiny has its inertia; if the underlying system does not change, even a temporary reversal will eventually revert to the old path; sometimes, standing by and watching is a sobering and helpless realization after understanding the laws.
5. The Ultimate Attitude Toward Life: Viewing success and failure from the perspective of “Heaven and Earth are unkind, treating all things as straw dogs,” accepting experiences, and understanding that life must be forged by oneself—heaven helps those who help themselves.
