CEO of the Cardano Foundation 🔵ADA( anticipates optimistic outlooks for ADA's future
Frederick Gregard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, spoke today during a Spaces broadcast about the Cardano blockchain system.
The broadcast focused on current developments for Cardano, )IBC( interoperability, real-world integrations, and future plans.
One of the highlights of the broadcast was Gregard sharing information about the recent activities of the Cardano Foundation. Emphasizing the Foundation's alignment with Input Output Global )IOG(, Gregard said, "We are taking Pentad to a whole new level. Many teams with different roles, visions, and opportunities are working closely together. There is full alignment between IOG and the Cardano Foundation regarding the distribution pace of 70 million ADA."
Gregard discussed the integration of the inter-chain communication protocol )IBC( into the Cardano ecosystem. He mentioned plans to organize an IBC hackathon during the Builder Fest event in 2026, with Julius hosting presentations and practical sessions.
During the broadcast, the possibility of paying with ADA at the SPAR supermarket in Switzerland was discussed. One participant asked, "What are the fees when paying with ADA at the Swiss supermarket? Are there any fees?" Gregard clarified that ADA payments have been enabled in 137 stores in collaboration with Open Crypto Pay and Swiss fintech company Utrust, providing users with convenience through on-chain settlement in real-time and low transaction fees.
The market status of Cardano's native token, ADA, was also discussed. Gregard claimed that Cardano has strong fundamentals and expressed a positive outlook for 2026: "With the Plutus upgrade, the Midnight network, and the potential approval of ADA-based ETFs, the ecosystem will grow." He added that Bloomberg considers the likelihood of approval for the ADA ETF to be 70%.
