SEC and TRON settle dispute!
According to court documents, Rainberry ( previously BitTorrent ) agreed to pay a fine of $10m for violating securities laws.
Meanwhile, other claims by the regulator will be dismissed, and charges against Justin Sun, TRON, and BitTorrent will be dropped.
The lawsuit was filed in March 2023 – the SEC accused TRON of fraud and selling unregistered securities. After a change in the commission's leadership, the case was suspended, and now the parties have reached a final agreement.
