Techub News reports, citing The Korea JoongAng Daily as reported by Decrypt, that a former police officer in South Korea responsible for investigating cryptocurrency fraud cases was sentenced to six years in prison for accepting a bribe of 120 million Korean won (approximately $82,000). The officer received about 50 million Korean won in cash between December 2023 and March 2024, and an additional 70 million Korean won through "entertainment expenses." In addition to the prison sentence, the individual was also fined 100 million Korean won (approximately $78,000).
