   According to The Information, in recent months, the three major regional grid operators in the U.S. (Texas, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest) have each approved a total of $75 billion in transmission expansion projects, mainly building a series of 765 kV ultra-high voltage lines—currently the highest operating voltage in the U.S., with transmission capacity six times that of traditional lines.
   Total mileage of this high-speed power highway will extend to 10,000 miles, four times the current length (~2,000 miles).
