Seagate launches the second-generation commercial HAMR HDD platform Mozaic Magic Box 4+, setting a new record with 44TB per drive

IT House March 4 News, Seagate announced on March 3rd that its second-generation commercial HAMR HDD platform Mozaic Magic Box 4+ has received certification from two major cloud service providers and has entered production.

IT House learned that Mozaic 4+ supports a maximum capacity of 44TB, setting a new record for commercial hard drives. This capacity is supported by a 10-disk design and a single-disk storage density of 4+TB. Mozaic 4+ HDD uses vertically integrated photonics technology, combined with a new generation of cantilever architecture and improved SoC, enabling higher density while maintaining enterprise-level reliability.
