Wero goes live for online payments in Belgium
Belgium is the second market after Germany to enable online payments via Wero. This new feature comes in addition to invoice payments and peer-to-peer transfers in Belgium.
ING, KBC and BNP Paribas Fortis are the initial backers of Wero’s online debut in Belgium. In the coming weeks Belfius will follow, and a progressive integration in H2 2026 with other banks, including Argenta, Bank Van Breda, Beobank, Bunq, Crelan, Keytrade Bank, Nagelmackers, Revolut, and vdk bank.
Among the first merchants to express their intention to activate Wero include Ahold Delhaize, Bpost, Just Russel, LIDL, Pairi Daiza, Parfum Dreams. They are joining the first names announced earlier in Germany as Air Europa, Decathlon, Dott, Eventim, Veepee.
In Belgium, the acquirers and partners currently supporting Wero include Worldline, Buckaroo, Doccle, POM, Mollie and Stripe among others.
In 2026, three other markets will also launch Wero in ecommerce: France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, where the migration of the iDEAL solution to Wero has just started.
