(MENAFN) Türkiye on Saturday called for an immediate cessation of hostilities involving US, Israel, and Iran.
In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry voiced serious concern over actions violating international law and condemned provocations that could escalate violence and endanger innocent lives. The ministry warned that the unfolding events, beginning with US-Israel strikes on Iran and followed by Iran’s attacks on other countries, pose risks to global stability.
Ankara emphasized that regional disputes should be settled through peaceful means and affirmed its readiness to provide mediation support where necessary.
The joint operation by the US and Israel, launched early Saturday, was described as targeting threats from the Iranian “regime.” Video statements by Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump suggested a broader aim of influencing Tehran’s leadership. In response, Iran condemned the strikes as a breach of its sovereignty, vowed retaliation, and launched counterattacks.
