Cryptocurrency financing cycle is booming, with $222 million flowing into emerging projects
Last week, the global cryptocurrency ecosystem experienced a wave of funding activity. According to industry media reports, 13 financing projects announced new funding rounds, totaling over $222 million. These funds were dispersed across various segments including DeFi, Web3 and AI integration, blockchain infrastructure, and centralized finance (CeFi), reflecting ongoing investor interest in different areas of the crypto space.
Record Weekly Funding Scale of $222 Million Spread Across 13 Projects
Data from this week’s funding shows that over $222 million is rapidly flowing into emerging sectors within crypto. Superstate Inc. emerged as the weekly funding winner, securing $82.5 million in a Series B round led by Bain Capital Crypto and Distributed Global. This amount was the most prominent among all funding events this week, accounting for more than one-third of the total $222 million raised.
Following closely is Pomelo Latam, which raised $55 million from institutions including Kaszek and Insight Partners in its latest funding round. Additionally, Bitcoin payment solution provider ZBD Pay successfully raised $40 million in a Series C round, injecting new momentum into the ecosystem’s funding landscape.
DeFi and AI Integration Become Funding Hotspots, Infrastructure Continues to Receive Support
The sectors covered by this week’s funding reflect the key development areas of the crypto ecosystem. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) remains a hotbed for investment, while the combination of Web3 and artificial intelligence has also attracted significant attention from investors. At the same time, blockchain infrastructure and CeFi sectors continue to receive capital support, indicating that crypto investment is evolving from a focus on single hotspots to a more diversified approach.
This diversification trend in funding indicates that investors’ understanding of the crypto ecosystem has gone beyond simple speculation on tokens, shifting toward deep engagement with industry fundamentals, application innovation, and cross-sector integration. While the $222 million funding scale still has room for growth relative to the overall industry funding volume, its diversified flow suggests that the crypto industry is moving toward a more mature and multi-faceted development path.
