A well-known financial institution recently published an interesting viewpoint: Ethereum's days might be better than Bitcoin's.

Although BTC has been underperforming lately, dragging down the overall crypto market sentiment, Ethereum is quietly gaining strength. Institutions are increasingly interested in ETH, and with Ethereum's dominant position in stablecoins, real-world asset tokenization, and DeFi, these factors are supporting its outlook.

And the good news doesn't stop there. The throughput of the Ethereum network is continuously being upgraded, and the crypto regulatory framework in the US is gradually becoming clearer. The combination of these two factors could open new windows for price growth.

According to this institution's forecast, Ethereum could reach $7,500 this year and potentially hit $30,000 by 2029. If this comes true, it would be a significant story for holders. Of course, the crypto market has always been volatile, and the actual trend will depend on future market performance and policy developments.
ETH-2.39%
BTC-1.98%

Uh... $7,500? Are the institutions' predictions just smoke and mirrors again? I feel like it's a bit uncertain. Really? I've heard the narrative that ETH can surpass BTC too many times. When DeFi stuff crashes and stablecoins blow up, why does no one talk about the dominant position? $30,000 is hilarious. Before 2029, it's probably another ten "It's about to take off" predictions. But honestly, this upgrade does look a bit promising, but whether you believe it or not, I only give it a 50% chance. When institutions enter the market, it's just like a warning before a harvest of leek-cutting; better to be cautious. Ethereum indeed dominates DeFi, there's nothing to brag about there. But the real question is: what if policies change? In my opinion, instead of looking at predictions, it's better to look at on-chain data, but who really checks that, haha. BTC dragging things down? ETH itself isn't doing that well either, okay?

7500?Are you dreaming? Let's see if it can break 3000 first. --- Institutions are really drinking their own Kool-Aid. Every time it's "hopeful" or "possible," but in the end, we just have to wait for the wind. --- Speaking of stablecoins, they are indeed ETH's golden egg, but with DeFi looking like this, who still dares to go all in? --- Regulatory framework clear? Uh, I think it's still pretty vague. Don't be fooled. --- 30,000 in 2029? Brother, I don't believe you. Let's not lose money first and talk about growth later. --- ETH is indeed gathering strength, but if BTC doesn't rise, the entire ecosystem is pointless. These two are a fate together. --- Everyone knows about throughput upgrades, but the key is whether someone uses it. Now the utilization rate is like this... --- Another institution forecast, another price target. I heard this spiel last year, and look what happened. --- Forget it, I'll just hodl. Anyway, there's nowhere to run. Let's see who gets liquidated first. --- Ethereum's dominant position is indeed stable, but don't overestimate the moat of stablecoins; it can be broken at any time.

Sounds pretty good, but I've heard this kind of prediction too many times already haha ETH is indeed unbeatable in DeFi, and institutional entry is also a fact. However, numbers like 7500 and 30000... institutions always like to make big predictions to attract attention. The key still depends on regulation and when BTC will rebound. No matter how strong ETH is, it can't escape the fate of being a mainstream coin.
