Base application shifts to "Trade First" strategy, with a comprehensive upgrade to multi-asset trading experience

Abstract generation in progress

【ChainNews】Base officially announced a significant product direction adjustment recently. The previous application design was somewhat off-course, overemphasizing social features and resembling traditional Web2 applications more closely, which resulted in the diverse trading needs of users not being well supported. The official team realized this issue only after listening to user feedback.

What do users really need? Summarizing, there are three points: First, trading functions must be robust enough to support various asset trading needs; second, high-quality assets must be able to be on-chain, as there is a strong market demand for this; third, the information flow should reflect on-chain dynamics in real-time, including DeFi applications, prediction markets, and social tokens.

Therefore, Base has decided to make adjustments. The core idea is “Trading First”—building a trading-driven platform that channels capital flow into rapidly growing assets. Additionally, more high-quality assets will be introduced on-chain, enriching the trading options for users.

The user experience has also shifted from “Social First” to “Finance First.” What does this mean? It means all product designs will revolve around financial functions, with social features layered on top—such as copy trading, in-feed trading, and leaderboards. This approach satisfies trading needs while retaining the community interaction charm.

It seems that Base aims to benchmark some leading trading platforms but intends to create a differentiated trading experience by leveraging its ecosystem advantages and the richness of on-chain assets.

It should have been like this a long time ago; the social features are really disappointing. Finally understanding that trading is the core competitiveness. This time, let's see if Base truly understands user psychology. With increased asset richness, will the trading depth keep up? Speaking of which, the Web2 approach is indeed not suitable for on-chain ecosystems. Supporting multiple assets still feels like an old approach; there are too many areas for optimization. If Base's recent adjustments are just slacking off again, there's really no hope. Wait, can the real-time information feed really be stable? Shifting to a trading-first approach is something that should have been done long ago. I'm optimistic about this direction, but execution is the key.

It should have been like this a long time ago; the previous social aspect was too strong. Base finally remembers that it is a trading platform. Expanding the multi-asset trading ecosystem, this is getting interesting. Improving the product based on feedback, this attitude is pretty good. The richness of on-chain assets is increasing, traders should be thrilled. Web2-style social features are indeed not suitable for on-chain ecosystems. Refocusing on trading, this is the right path.

Finally heard it, the social features are indeed not what we want. Base's shift towards a trading-first approach this time is pretty good, but can it quickly roll out quality assets? It was about time, the Web2 approach really doesn't suit on-chain. Multi-asset trading experience upgrade, the key is how well execution is done. This adjustment direction is good, now it depends on whether it can be truly implemented later.

Finally, some real content. Social strategies are indeed not suitable for on-chain. I've always said that trading is the core, and the previous approach was a bit off track. This is what Base should look like. Quickly stack up high-quality assets. It seems Coinbase is serious this time, no longer messing around.

This is the right way. The social approach really doesn't work well. --- It should have been done this way a long time ago. Nobody wants to keep using the Web2 approach every day. --- Prioritize trading? Finally listened to that advice. Just worried about a sudden change of direction halfway through. --- On-chain assets are crucial; otherwise, what's the point of trading? --- It sounds good, but the key is whether it can really be implemented. --- It's somewhat interesting. At least we're no longer messing around with social. --- The information flow needs to keep up; otherwise, it's still not fast enough. --- The multi-asset direction is correct; it all depends on execution. --- I like the shift to Base. Finally, a clear direction.

It should have been like this a long time ago; the previous social strategy really went off track. Trading is the real way to go; I finally understand. The recent adjustment of Base was timely; otherwise, it would have been beaten by other chains. Asset richness needs to improve for trading depth to keep up; looking forward to the release of quality assets. Sounds good, but how well it will be executed still remains to be seen. This time, I truly woke up and returned to the essence.

Finally fixed it. That previous social feature was really disappointing. Trading is king. This is what the blockchain should look like. It's good that Base listened. Let's see how they execute it moving forward. This should have been done earlier. So many opportunities were wasted.
