According to CoinDesk, US Senators have submitted over 130 amendments ahead of the upcoming crypto market structure legislative hearing. These amendments are broad, including banning stablecoin yields, restricting public officials from profiting from crypto assets, and redefining digital asset mixers. The base bill text from the Banking Committee was released at midnight on Monday and will be discussed and voted on this Thursday. Some amendments have bipartisan support, such as the one jointly proposed by Senators Tillis and Alsobrooks regarding stablecoin yields.
SEC ends multi-year investigation into Zcash Foundation, no enforcement action planned
According to The Block, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has concluded its multi-year investigation into the Zcash Foundation. The nonprofit organization announced in a blog post on Wednesday that the SEC will not take any enforcement action against it. The Zcash Foundation stated they received a subpoena in August 2023 related to “certain crypto asset issuance matters (SF-04569)”.
CCTV: Former Digital Currency Research Institute Director Yao Qian received 2000 ETH for assisting ICO
According to CCTV, Yao Qian, former director of the Digital Currency Research Institute, was hired by businessman Zhang in 2018 to assist with listing tokens on an exchange during an ICO. The ICO successfully raised 20,000 ETH, and Zhang transferred 2000 ETH to Yao Qian as compensation. Investigators found a hardware wallet in Yao Qian’s office drawer.
The investigation team also discovered multiple bank accounts opened under others’ names as “masks,” with one transfer of 10 million yuan originating from a virtual currency trading firm’s account, ultimately used to purchase a villa in Beijing.
Solana Mobile opens SKR airdrop eligibility query, distribution begins January 21
Solana Mobile announced that the SKR token distribution query tool is now live in Seed Vault wallet. Users can open Seed Vault, click the “Activity Tracking” tab to view their allocation level. Based on interactions during Season 1 with Seeker devices, Solana dApp Store, and on-chain activities, SKR tokens are divided into five allocation levels: Sovereign (750,000 SKR), Luminary (125,000 SKR), Vanguard (40,000 SKR), Prospector (10,000 SKR), and Scout (5,000 SKR).
Nearly 2 billion SKR tokens will be distributed to the community in this airdrop, with about 1.82 billion allocated to 100,908 users and approximately 141 million to 188 developers, covering both users and developers.
SKR distribution officially opens at 02:00 (UTC) on January 21. Eligible participants can check their individual allocation and level in advance and should prepare a small amount of SOL to pay on-chain transaction fees.

According to The Block, investment bank TD Cowen has lowered the one-year target price for Bitcoin reserve company Strategy( from $500 to $440, citing ongoing equity and preferred stock issuance reducing Bitcoin yields.
Analysts expect Strategy to acquire about 155,000 BTC in FY2026, significantly up from the previous estimate of 90,000 BTC, but these acquisitions will mainly be financed through common and preferred stock, diluting Bitcoin yields.
Despite lowering the target price, analysts remain optimistic about Strategy as a Bitcoin investment vehicle and forecast Bitcoin prices reaching approximately $177,000 by December 2026 and about $226,000 by December 2027.
FTX: Next distribution expected to start March 31, disputed claims reserve reduced by $2.2 billion for distribution
FTX announced today that the next claim holder distribution record date is set for February 14, 2026, with distribution expected to commence on March 31, 2026. Additionally, FTX has submitted a revised notice planning to reduce the disputed claims reserve by $2.2 billion. Once approved by the court, these funds will be released for distribution to allowed claimants.
Burwick Law refiled lawsuit against Pump.fun and Solana executives
According to DLNews, Burwick Law refiled a lawsuit against Pump.fun and Solana executives, accusing them of creating a “manipulative illegal gambling platform.” Internal messages cited in the lawsuit show Pump.fun co-founder Alon Cohen admitted that “most people lose.” The plaintiff claims the platform used a priority fee mechanism to give certain users an advantage during token launches and accuses some crypto opinion leaders of promoting tokens without disclosing compensation. Despite serious allegations, there is no concrete evidence proving executives directly profited, and the judge has allowed the plaintiff to submit an amended complaint containing 5,000 private messages.
Strive acquires Semler Scientific, to become the 11th largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally
Strive, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASST) announced that it has received shareholder approval to acquire Semler Scientific (NASDAQ: SMLR) through a stock-for-stock transaction. After the deal, Strive will hold 5,048.1 BTC from Semler Scientific, bringing its total holdings to 12,797.9 BTC, surpassing Tesla and Trump Media & Technology Group, making it the 11th largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally. Strive plans to monetize Semler Scientific’s medical device business within 12 months post-transaction and repay its $100 million convertible bonds and $20 million Coinbase loan.
