Lighter platform launches LIT staking mechanism, stake to enjoy fee discounts and additional benefits

【Blockchain Rhythm】Lighter officially announced a major update: users can now stake LIT tokens on the platform and receive multiple initial benefits.

According to the announcement, staking 1 LIT will immediately deposit 10 USDC into LLP. For existing LLP users, the platform has provided a two-week grace period until January 28, after which staking LIT will become a necessary condition for continued deposits. The underlying logic of this design is to strengthen the interests binding LIT holders and LLP users, while optimizing LLP’s risk-adjusted returns. In the future, this may even extend to other public fund pools.

There are also adjustments to the fee structure. Fees for market makers and high-frequency trading institutions will be increased within two weeks, but users staking LIT can enjoy discounts, and retail traders will still trade for free. This approach protects professional traders’ cost control capabilities while encouraging more participation in staking.

Staking rewards come from the distribution of staking rights to advanced users, with specific APR to be announced after activation. If staking reaches 100 LIT, withdrawal and transfer fees can be waived, which is a significant incentive for large holders. The staking feature on mobile will also be launched soon.

Early participants will receive additional benefits—unlocking a 1.3x points multiplier, which directly affects leaderboard rankings and future LIT reward distribution. The “Founder” status is limited to early participants, reflecting the platform’s appreciation for initial supporters.
