Security startup Depthfirst, which uses artificial intelligence for cybersecurity defense, raised $40 million in Series A funding led by Accel Partners. SV Angel, Mantis VC, and Alt Capital also participated in this round. The company's native AI platform, General Security Intelligence, can help enterprises scan code repositories, prevent credential leaks, and monitor threats faced by open-source components. Co-founder and CEO Qasim Mithani stated that as artificial intelligence changes the way attackers operate, defenses must also evolve. The funds will be used to hire R&D, engineering, product, and sales personnel.
