Trading with 1000U in contracts, the easiest thing to cause a wipeout is never market fluctuations, but that moment of greed—thinking about doubling your money in one shot.
Recently, I've seen many novice traders face the same dilemma: how to trade contracts to survive longer?
My advice in one sentence: never go all-in at once.
Among the beginners I've mentored, those who can truly persist generally do the first step right—treat the principal as life, not as betting money.
I usually suggest they start like this: split the 1000U first, don’t be afraid of the trouble.
**Phase One: Test the Waters**
Take out 200U to feel the market, keep leverage between 5× and 10×. Some jump in with 50× leverage right away—that’s not trading, that’s just making your heartbeat race every day. When the market slightly fluctuates, fingers start to click randomly, and you end up losing faster than anyone.
The remaining 800U should be set aside, don’t touch it, and you can even transfer it into financial products.
Here’s the key: if you lose that 200U, absolutely do not add more positions.
I personally failed at this step—after losing, I was too stubborn, kept adding money, trying to make it back in one shot, and ended up deeper in the hole. Later, I realized that pausing is a hundred times more important than continuing to tinker. Stop for two or three days, review where you went wrong. These coins like BTC won’t run away; there’s always a chance each month, but if the principal is gone, it’s really gone.
**Phase Two: Stabilize and Restart**
Once your mindset is back to normal, take out that 800U again and split it up. For example, divide into 5 parts, each 160U, and proceed gradually.
If one day you earn 500U with this method, I suggest you: immediately withdraw 300U. This is not being conservative; it’s wisdom. With confirmed gains in your account, your mindset will be completely different. I’ve seen too many people, seeing an extra 500U in their account, refuse to withdraw, only to get stopped out once, lose everything, and return to square one. That’s a total waste.
**Risk Awareness**
Another reality you must accept: with 10× leverage, just a 10% wrong move and you’re out. Assets like BTC fluctuate 20% in a year quite normally. So position management is always more important than “I think it will go up.”
**Specific Execution Standards**
If your daily loss reaches 2% of your total funds, you should be alert. If it hits 6%, close all positions and rest for two or three days. For profitable trades, quickly set stop-loss to protect profits—don’t let the gains turn into losses again. When adding positions, either plan the amount from the start or wait for a clear major correction. Never add impulsively during the highest emotional moments.
The first thing when entering a position isn’t fantasizing about how much you can make, but setting your stop-loss properly. When you make money, withdraw it. Only consider increasing your investment once your mindset is stable.
The crypto market never lacks opportunities; what’s missing is those who can survive to the next wave. If you’re still unclear about your direction, it’s better to try this framework first.
