Zcash Foundation urgently expands DNS seed nodes, five new deployments strengthen network stability
【Crypto World】The Zcash Foundation has recently taken major actions. On January 8th, the DNS seed nodes operated by ECC experienced service interruptions. To prevent network disruption, the foundation responded swiftly—on January 14th, they announced the deployment of five new DNS seed nodes.
These five new nodes are distributed across two regions: the United States and Europe. In the US, they are located in South Carolina and Oregon, while in Europe, they are in Belgium, Germany, and Finland. Along with the previously operated nodes, the Zcash Foundation now manages a total of six seed nodes.
Why is this matter so urgent? Simply put, DNS seed nodes are the entry points for wallets and nodes to discover other network nodes. If a node encounters issues, the speed at which users can start wallets and run validation nodes will be affected. These newly deployed nodes are meant to ensure that users can connect to the network stably and quickly.
However, the foundation’s ambitions go beyond this. They are planning to deploy additional nodes in other regions to further expand coverage. Meanwhile, Shielded Labs is also advancing the deployment of extra nodes. It appears that Zcash is continuously investing in long-term network stability and reliability.
