Zcash Foundation urgently deploys five DNS seed nodes to strengthen global network coverage

【Zhuanblock Rhythm】The Zcash Foundation has recently taken an important action. On January 8th, the DNS seed node operated by Electric Coin Company experienced a service interruption. To address this situation, the foundation acted quickly and announced on January 14th that five new DNS seed nodes had been deployed in the United States and Europe.

Where exactly are they located? In the US, they chose South Carolina and Oregon, while in Europe, coverage includes Belgium, Germany, and Finland. With these additions, along with the original nodes, the Zcash Foundation now controls a total of six seed nodes.

This deployment may seem simple, but it is quite significant. Seed nodes are the “navigators” of the network, determining whether new wallets and nodes can quickly find peers when starting up. More and more distributed nodes mean a more stable user experience and shorter startup times.

Interestingly, the foundation is also continuing to plan. They are considering further deployments in other regions, while the Shielded Labs team is working in parallel to deploy additional nodes. It appears that Zcash is putting effort into building a more decentralized and resilient network infrastructure.

When a cryptocurrency company encounters an issue, the foundation quickly steps in to fix it. This pace is quite interesting. Wow, now Zcash is really playing chess. Distributing to five different locations shows they are serious about network stability. The navigation device broke, bought five new ones, and just like that... This is much faster than some projects' actions. But I still want to know, what caused the service interruption on ECC's side? Was it an attack or just a pure technical failure? Having more seed nodes is indeed satisfying, but does this add more topics about the foundation's centralization...

Haha, ECC is down and still relies on the foundation to save the day. This is the price of centralization. --- Six nodes sound like a lot, but are they really decentralized enough? Feels a bit uncertain. --- Mainly, as long as the speed is fast, I just care whether the wallet can start quickly. --- Europe and America are fully covered, but I don't know when Asia will catch up. --- Seed nodes, to put it simply, are still an infrastructure issue. Zcash has finally paid attention to this aspect.

The dispersion of seed nodes has improved, which is a hard indicator of stability. Six nodes cover two continents, significantly reducing the risk of single-point failure, and the network resilience directly enters a new trajectory.

Hmm, the response speed is okay, but why wait until a crash happens to think about diversifying risk?

The seed node had another issue, but fortunately the response was quick; otherwise, user experience would have been directly爆炸
