I tried using ETFs on Gate and will briefly explain what ETFs are for.
Gate's ETFs can be understood as leveraged spot trading, for example, 3L is three times long, and 3S is three times short. The operation method is the same as spot trading—just buy and sell directly, without opening and closing positions like futures, and there’s no risk of liquidation. This is very friendly for those who don’t want to deal with futures.
When the market trend is relatively clear, I usually use ETFs to ride a wave, take profits, and then exit. I don’t hold them long-term. It’s slightly more efficient than spot trading and doesn’t require watching the liquidation price, making the mindset much easier.
Of course, ETFs are not something to be used casually. They can incur losses in choppy markets, so they are suitable for trending markets and not for sideways grinding.
This recent trade was a trend-following move. Based on my personal experience, Gate’s ETFs are more like a tool that sits between spot and futures.
