Rather than pushing myself hard, I would rather let myself go. If I'm wealthy, I'll indulge; if I'm poor, I'll move on; if I'm faced with power, I'll bend; if tempted by beauty, I'll yield; if not beaten, I'll comply; if beaten, I'll cry; I won't suffer hardships, but I'll enjoy blessings. Knowing there's a tiger on the mountain, I choose to retreat; not listening to the advice of the elders, I can be happy for years; there are golden houses in books, and once I have gold, I leave the house. Knowledge will eventually be forgotten, and gold will eventually be spent. No one supports my ambitions, yet I still can't rise. Don't always say I lack capability; if I had some ability, I wouldn't be entirely incapable. Just like Maupassant said, I initially wanted to cry under the blanket, but ended up falling asleep instead. Let go of personal quality and enjoy a life lacking in virtue.
