$Genius Announces Sybil Detection Direction: Focus on Combating Fake Trading Volume, Complete Rules Not Yet Disclosed
$Genius is an on-chain trading terminal exchange platform backed by @yzilabs and advised by @cz_. Currently, users earn points by contributing trading fees and volume on the platform, which are expected to be used for token redemption or airdrop participation in the future.
Recently, in response to community questions about "whether wash trading will be subject to Sybil cleaning," Genius officials revealed their current Sybil detection key rules in their response.
According to official statements, Genius is currently primarily targeting "Fake Volume" behavior, such as users self-issuing fake tokens, creating custom liquidity pools, and conducting transactions between multiple wallets to generate trading volume. Such behavior will be identified by the system as volume washing and may be determined as Sybil addresses with related points removed.
However, Genius has not yet published a complete Sybil detection algorithm or detailed standards. For example, whether identification will be based on wallet fund sources, IP addresses, trading patterns, address associations, and other factors remains unclear from officials.
This also means that at the current stage, the community still cannot fully determine which behaviors will be judged as Sybil. Many users are calling for the project to further disclose more transparent rules to avoid users facing the risk of being cleaned even after contributing genuine trading fees.
