Average Opening Price

Options with the same expiration date, strike price, and type are considered a single position. If you increase or decrease your position, the average opening price will be affected. The calculation is as follows:

Average Opening Price = ( Previous Average Opening Price × Previous Position Size + Current Trade Opening Price × Current Position Change ) / ( Previous Position Size + Current Position Change )

Position Market Value

The market value of a position is calculated based on the option's mark price and the number of contracts held. The formula is:

Position Market Value = Mark Price × Contract Multiplier × ABS(Position Size)

Unrealized P&L

Unrealized profit and loss reflect the P&L of your current position based on the current mark price. This value will fluctuate as the mark price changes. The calculation is as follows:

Unrealized P&L = ( Mark Price - Average Opening Price ) × Contract Multiplier × Position Size

Realized P&L

Realized profit and loss account for trading fees and any manual position reductions during the holding period. The calculation is:

Realized P&L = Deducted Fees + P&L from Manual Position Reduction

For detailed information on how option fees are calculated, please refer to the Options Fee Explanation.

Option Expiry P&L

At option expiry, P&L is determined by the relationship between the settlement price and the underlying asset's market price. The possible scenarios are:

Scenario 1: At-the-money/out-of-the-money option → Not exercised, option expires worthless
The option buyer will not exercise the option. Position P&L = 0

Scenario 2: In-the-money option → Exercised, settlement P&L
The P&L is calculated as follows:

Call P&L = ( Settlement Price - Strike Price ) × Contract Multiplier × Position Size - Exercise Fee - Fees
Put P&L = ( Strike Price - Settlement Price ) × Contract Multiplier × Position Size - Exercise Fee - Fees

Please note: The expiry P&L calculation only considers the P&L after the position is established and does not include the option premium.
