Wisconsin State Pension Fund May Invest More in Bitcoin ETFs
Wisconsin's pension plan made headlines when it added two spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to its portfolio, signaling a potential trend of increased crypto investments by the state. The State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) purchased shares of BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust and Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust, valued at $164 million. While this investment only represents a small fraction of the SWIB's overall portfolio, experts believe it is just the beginning and anticipate other pensions to follow suit.
