IR4LAB, a Saudi-Arabian company specializing in cutting-edge technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence, recently revealed its plans to extend its presence in Africa during the Gitex Africa event, which took place in Morocco from May 31 to June 2, 2023.
According to IR4LAB, the decision to expand into Africa is driven by a dedication to the continent and the objective of fostering innovation in advanced technologies. IR4LAB aims to implement various use cases using its blockchain solution, DocCerts, along with other solutions it provide.
“We are happy to be expanding into the African market. We believe that Africa’s digital economy will grow and we want to be part of this growth in innovation and digitization, but also building local capabilities right from Morocco to Africa,” said Mohamed El Kandri, CTO and Co-Founder of IR4LAB.
IR4LAB previously participated in the first World Maintenance Summit 2023 which took place from May 11th to 12th at King Mohamed 6 University in Marrakech, Morocco. This summit was organized by OCP, Morocco’s largest group, and its subsidiary, OCP MS. During the event, IR4LAB delivered a presentation highlighting the application of blockchain technology in industrial maintenance with a particular focus on industrial inspection.
During the event, El Kandri emphasized the significance of blockchain in maintenance 4.0 and highlighted the advantages of employing blockchain technology in industrial inspection. Furthermore, he shared concrete examples from IR4LAB’s ongoing projects to illustrate the practical applications of blockchain in these areas.
Earlier, at LEAP 2023, Saudi Arabia’s prominent technology event held in Riyadh from February 7th to 9th, IR4LAB and SGS (Saudi Ground Services) made a collaborative announcement revealing their joint initiative to deploy the DocCerts blockchain management solution for digital documents related to training and licenses for ground service equipment. This implementation covers 28 airports in Saudi Arabia where SGS offers ground services.
IR4LAB has also achieved acceptance into the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology ‘Tech Champions Accelerator Program,’ which is powered by Plug and Play, a renowned entity from Silicon Valley.
