I am a father of two children and I bought 2 Bitcoin.
I saw a post on Reddit and I am quoting it here in Turkish:
I am a father of two children and I bought 2 Bitcoin.
I am not a financial expert. I am not a crypto expert either. I am just a father who has been thinking about the world this week:
The possibility of war with Iran, rising oil prices, 92,000 jobs lost in just one month, robotic arms replacing people…
And I came to this conclusion:
The high cost of living will never go back.
That’s why I did something frightening.
Something beyond the comfort zone of a father.
I saved up and finally managed to buy 2 Bitcoin.
One for each of my sons.
Every penny earned through hard work.
No inheritance. No gifts.
It was earned through long days, nights that went late into the evening, and silent sacrifices made because two little faces trust you.
I don’t know if Bitcoin will someday reach 1 million dollars.
I don’t know if it will drop to zero.
No one knows.
Everyone claiming to know is probably lying.
But I do know one thing:
The system we are told is good if you work hard and save more is becoming less trustworthy every year.
Rents are rising.
Market prices are increasing.
The gap between those with generational wealth and those starting from zero is widening.
I grew up in poverty.
I refuse to accept my children starting from zero.
That’s why this message is actually a letter to them.
To my children M.T and O.T,
When you read this, Bitcoin will either have changed your life or made us both humble.
In either case, know this:
I tried.
I sat with uncertainty.
I felt fear.
And I still bought.
Not out of greed.
Out of love.
I wanted to leave you something that no government can devalue with inflation, no bank can freeze, and no economic crisis can take from you.
I HODL for you.
In every dip.
In every crash.
In every headline that says “Bitcoin is over.”
Because I believe in your future more than I fear risk.
If this works…
If this single decision can lift you above the poverty I was born into…
I hope you do the same for others.
Because that is my real dream for Bitcoin.
Not Lambos.
Not to get rich.
But a world where more people have a chance at life.
🧡 Father of two children.
Owner of 2 BTC.
Both scared and hopeful at the same time.
Not financial advice.
Just a father trying his best.
Update:
Thank you for the support and kind messages.
I hope one day my children will read this and see that I truly did my best.
To my sons,
If you are reading this when I am no longer in this world, know that there wasn’t a single day I didn’t think of you.
Forgive me if I ever made things difficult.
Thank you for your patience.
I love you, my sons.
More than words can express.
Your father, W 🧡
