U.S. startup Starcloud will launch the first Bitcoin mining satellite into orbit later this year.
Their Starcloud-2 spacecraft will carry ASIC miners and GPUs to mine BTC from space, powered by nonstop solar energy and cooled naturally by the vacuum of space.
They already proved the concept. Starcloud-1 successfully ran an NVIDIA H100 GPU in orbit back in November 2025.
The company has filed with the FCC to deploy 88,000 satellites as orbital data centers.
