#钱包安全事件 Seeing the Trust Wallet incident this time, I feel a bit heavy-hearted. $8.5 million stolen, 2,520 wallets compromised—what's behind these numbers are countless moments of shattered dreams.

I still remember the 2017 bull market, when many people were completely out of the game due to a wallet vulnerability or a private key leak. Back then, we repeatedly emphasized the importance of cold wallets, multi-signature, and asset isolation on forums. Yet now, in 2024, we see the same stories replaying. The only difference is the protagonist—once considered a relatively secure browser extension.

Ironically, Trust Wallet chose to compensate proactively. A few years ago, this would have been almost unthinkable in the industry—wallet providers usually shifted blame to users for poor management. This change in attitude reflects industry maturity and also highlights the severity of the incident. With 5,000 claim applications still being processed, the final number could be even more shocking.

Looking at historical cycles, every major security incident serves as a textbook lesson for the market. The Mt. Gox hack in 2014 taught us about exchange risks; The DAO hack in 2016 revealed smart contract vulnerabilities. Now, this browser extension incident reminds us—no matter how convenient the tool, security flaws are an illusion in the face of vulnerabilities.

Reaching this point today, we should seriously ask ourselves: how did those who survived multiple cycles manage to stay alive? The answer is never luck, but learning respect through every bloody lesson.
