When I was a child reading storybooks, there were always scenes like this. At the village entrance, a newly built road was just paved with the first layer, but no one walked on it. Everyone found it slow, dusty, and endless. Only a few people would go around to check it out every day, step on it a couple of times, and note which stones were loose or which section of the road was still unfinished.
