Major blockchain protocols are stepping up to support a game-changing initiative. ETHGas has unveiled the Open Gas Initiative, fundamentally reshaping how users experience transaction costs on the network.

The core innovation? End users no longer bear gas fees directly. This removes one of the biggest friction points in Web3 adoption, especially for smaller transactions that were previously economically unfeasible.

For protocols looking to improve user experience and expand their ecosystem reach, this movement represents a significant opportunity. The mechanism essentially abstracts away gas complexity, letting users focus on what matters—actually using the platform—rather than calculating transaction costs.

Wow, finally someone has come up with a solution for gas fees. It should have been done this way long ago.

Wait, does this really work? Or is it just another round of hype...

Finally, someone has taken action. Gas fees should have been abolished a long time ago.

Finally, someone has sorted out the gas fee issue. Small transactions are no longer a loss.

It's that same rhetoric of "abstracted costs" again... Who will foot the bill? The protocol team? Or will it ultimately be diluted to the token holders? First, Arbitrum's incentive program is burning money without restraint, and now there's another wave of "free lunch"... The mechanism design needs to be carefully examined.

Gas fees disappear directly? If that really becomes a reality, I would believe it. By the way, who's paying the bill?

So after all that, it's still the protocol making the purchase orders; the users benefit while the protocol party loses out.
