Attention-based Prediction Markets: A Market Viability Question

The concept of building prediction markets specifically for attention metrics raises an interesting strategic question: Is there genuine demand for such a niche application?

More importantly, if this use case truly resonates with users, why haven't established prediction market platforms—with their existing user bases, liquidity, and infrastructure—already captured this opportunity? The barriers to entry are relatively low once you have an established PM ecosystem.

It's worth considering whether attention metrics alone create a compelling enough reason to spin up an entirely new prediction market vertical, or whether the existing infrastructure could adapt to serve this demand more efficiently. The survival of such a project would heavily depend on network effects and whether enough participants see genuine value in forecasting attention-related outcomes.

This touches on a broader theme in crypto: not every idea that sounds innovative in theory translates into sustainable product-market fit.

To be honest, it's the same old "innovation" disguise, filled with tired logic... Forget it, forget it. I'm already tired of the attention market. A bunch of people with pickaxes digging for gold mines, only to find they've been mined out long ago. Why don't big platforms do it? Because there's simply no profit to be made.

To put it simply, it's another project that looks flashy but no one actually wants. The whales should have acted long ago. This wave indeed exposes a problem: why aren't the big platforms involved? It shows there's basically no liquidity, brother. What’s the point of hype around attention metrics? Attention can't predict anything, it's just a new trick to harvest retail investors. Since barriers are so low, why hasn't anyone jumped on board? Doesn't that mean the demand is fake... I'm optimistic, but risk control must be in place. Don't just dive into new concepts without proper precautions.

To be honest, I've never understood this kind of niche market... Does anyone really want to gamble every day on which tweet will go viral? It feels like it's just for the sake of innovation, with no real demand.

卷积 attention metric for market prediction? Honestly, it feels like a pseudo-demand. Since major platforms haven't taken any action, that really says a lot.

nah this is just cope from people who already control the liquidity pools. if attention markets aren't happening it's bc the existing players are sitting on them like dragons, not bc demand doesn't exist. classic moat defense disguised as "market wisdom"

Basically, it's just a false demand. Does anyone really think gambling on attention every day can make money? This thing won't last much longer.

Another project that sounds good but really, does anyone actually use it? Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical. True product-market fit is the key; just shouting about innovation isn't enough.

ngl the "why hasn't anyone built this yet?" argument is basically the strongest bearish signal here... if the thesis was solid, existing platforms would've already data-mined it to death. transaction patterns don't lie—there's always a reason innovation fails before reaching mainstream adoption

Is this another cool-sounding project that no one actually wants... attention metrics prediction market? Basically, it's just betting on who can attract the most attention. What's the point of this?
