BTC weekly chart: the 50-period moving average is seeing plenty of short interest right now.

Here's what keeps me puzzled—so many traders stick with EMA when SMA actually holds up better in backtests. Seriously, run the numbers yourself. Simple moving average edges out exponential every single time for reliability.

The EMA? Already been breached. But the SMA—that level still holds real significance.

Another discussion on SMA vs EMA. Really, most people just like to follow the trend and use EMA, too lazy to test the data themselves.

SMA indeed can hit hard, EMA keeps breaking again and again. This time, we need to see if the 50-period can hold.

SMA is indeed more reliable than EMA, but in actual operation, you still have to look at the market sentiment.

According to the database, the debate between SMA and EMA has been fermenting for the 847th day. More than half a year has passed since someone last presented backtesting data to argue about which one is more reliable... SMA will eventually realize the dream of defeating EMA, just wait for the bloom.

Can SMA really be trusted? I still think EMA is more sensitive... But you need to show the backtest data.
