Currently, many public blockchains treat privacy and compliance as optional add-ons, but for institutions, they are two completely different matters. To map real assets like stocks and bonds onto the blockchain, privacy and compliance are fundamental prerequisites; missing either one makes it impossible to operate.
The reason I am quite optimistic about Dusk is simple — it hasn't taken the "patch after the fact" approach. It doesn't just superficially add privacy features, nor does it offload compliance issues off-chain; instead, it integrates zero-knowledge proofs and auditability into the protocol layer from the start. This bottom-up approach has helped it gradually establish a foothold among institutional clients. Over a year since its mainnet launch, it has moved from purely technical validation to a stable, large-scale real-world deployment.
There are several technical details that are particularly impressive. DuskEVM achieves full EVM compatibility; in other words, smart contracts developed in Solidity on Ethereum or BSC can be migrated with almost seamless transition, with zero learning curve for developers. Once a contract is on-chain, it automatically gains privacy protection — only revealing to the outside world that "a transaction has occurred," while the specific amount, parties involved, and business details are encrypted and hidden. When regulatory authorities need to review or audit, the system can generate verifiable disclosures according to the rules, protecting commercial secrets while complying with frameworks like the EU’s MiCA and MiFID II. This is exactly what institutions need.
In terms of ecosystem development, Dusk is also making serious moves. The partnership announced for the end of 2025 with Chainlink and the Dutch licensed exchange NPEX demonstrates its commitment to moving from technical development to practical application. All these actions point in one direction: the next step for institutional-grade applications requires not only speed and scale but also robust privacy protection and regulatory compliance.
