AI tools drive large-scale upgrade of crypto scams: single scam amount soars to $3.2 million

【Blockchain Rhythm】At the start of 2025, the cryptocurrency sector is facing a severe security challenge. According to the latest data, the global crypto scam industry has surpassed $14 billion per year, with the widespread use of AI tools becoming the main driver of this phenomenon.

The most striking contrast comes from the “efficiency” difference among scam gangs. Criminal groups using AI tools can successfully scam an average of $3.2 million per attempt; in comparison, groups not using AI earn only about $719,000 per scam—meaning the former causes losses that are 4.5 times greater than the latter. Behind these figures is an “efficiency revolution” enabled by AI in generating fake identities, creating deepfake videos, and other steps, allowing scammers to carry out fraud at lower costs and with higher precision.

In practice, these criminal gangs have become quite sophisticated. They carefully craft personas on social media—either portraying a warm “investment mentor” image or establishing “emotional connections” with victims through virtual identities. Once trust is gained, victims are led into meticulously disguised fake trading platforms, ultimately losing everything. AI participation makes the entire process more scalable and personalized, significantly increasing success rates and involved amounts.

For users involved in crypto asset investments, remaining vigilant against investment advice from strangers, verifying platform authenticity, and cautiously sharing personal information have become basic self-protection measures.

3.2 million per deal, this is the industrialization of scams in the AI era... Deepfake + fake personas, lower barriers for dissemination, making it impossible for retail investors to defend against. A $14 billion market, more profitable than many real businesses, it's outrageous. AI tools were originally productivity tools, now they've become automated scam pipelines—who can control this? From now on, even to view an investment post, you have to check IDs; there's no way to prevent this.

Three point two million dollars at once? Damn, these people are even faster at bottom-fishing and breaking even than I am... No, what am I doing, I really should add to my position and short them haha. --- AI has become a tool for scams, my little faith is worth a few bucks... But it's not a big problem, just hold the full position and stay safe. --- Deepfake with fake identities? Brother, this routine is more professional than the signal providers I see in the group, I really am too naive. --- Three point two million each time, 14 billion in scams in a year? Oh my god... I’d better just hold and recover my losses honestly, no more dreaming about defying the odds. --- Now it’s all about scams, I’ve been squeezed so much that it doesn’t seem so tragic anymore haha (laughing and crying). --- Caught the bottom-fishing in the hands of scam gangs, I’m laughing... But I believe that a decline is the best opportunity to add to your position. --- How come I don’t have the ability to scam 3.2 million at once... No, I mean these people are too rampant, the short sellers must be cleared out. --- Honestly, when the bull market comes, these are all minor issues. Being cut before breaking through is routine, don’t pretend you don’t know.

3.2 million USD at once? Damn, how professional do you have to be for that? AI has really lowered the cost of scams. In the past, it was about photo editing; now it's deepfake videos, and there's no defense against it. 719,000 vs. 3.2 million, the difference in multiples is quite staggering. It feels like the market has been upgraded. How to defend against this? Now even videos can't be trusted. 14 billion/year, that's really outrageous. I should think carefully about whether I've been scammed before. Deepfake technology definitely needs regulation, but how do you catch people using AI for this? Wait, how was this data collected? Can we really confirm that a single scam can reach 3.2 million? The combination of persona building and fake videos—newbies simply can't play with this. It feels like these days, everyone making money is just scamming. Such a shame.

$3.2 million in one go? Oh my, that's an incredible efficiency. AI really has upgraded scammers into professional players. --- Deepfake + fake identities, in simple terms, AI has armed scams with automation tools, lowering the barrier directly. --- From 719,000 to 3.2 million, a 4.5x difference... What does this indicate? The precision of AI scams is truly crushing traditional methods. --- $1.4 billion/year? No, it feels like this number should be doubled again. --- Creating personas on social media and then scamming users, this script can now be automatically performed by AI. How can we prevent this? --- I was wondering why there are suddenly so many suspicious accounts among the "big V" crypto groups recently. Turns out, AI is behind the manipulation. --- $3.2 million scam in one go... Some people might never earn this amount in their lifetime, yet they get scammed instead. --- Here's the question: if even AI can produce fake identities, does on-chain identity verification still have any meaning?

Wow, 3.2 million per deal? I really can't keep up with these scams anymore. Scam groups are really ramping up now. --- With such powerful AI face swapping, I think ordinary retail investors are the easiest targets to be scammed... --- 1.4 billion a year, how many leeks does that take? Truly outrageous. --- Deepfake + fake identities, it's hard to guard against. Who would trust strangers anymore? --- Without AI, the average scam amount is only 710,000; with AI, it more than quadruples. Artificial intelligence is really the best tool for criminals. --- Social media persona building? I'm tired of seeing this trick, yet some still fall for it. --- Web3 has long been a breeding ground for scams, and now with AI added, Happy New Year just becomes a new year of... poverty. --- A single transaction of $3.2 million, that's more ruthless than any rug pull I've seen in crypto. --- We should learn some skills to recognize deepfake technology, or we'll be exploited sooner or later. --- This data makes me shiver; AI + social engineering is truly incredible.

Whoa, AI face-swapping scams have upgraded to this level? 3.2 million in one go? I just want to ask, how come these people haven't been caught yet? --- $14 billion feels higher than the GDP of some countries... Is that real, brother? --- Deepfake + fake identity, this combo is deadly, can't defend against it. --- A 4.5x gap, no wonder criminals are embracing AI, it's outrageous. --- I just want to know what these victims are thinking, can't they see through it? --- Starting 2025 with such excitement, am I going to be scammed again? --- 3.2 million dollars at once, these scammers are making more than me haha. --- AI is truly a double-edged sword, a creative master, the chosen one for deception. --- Fake identities plus deepfake, honestly, this method is absolutely brilliant. --- The key is that the cost is still low, that's the most outrageous part.
