Gate uses a Merkle tree approach, storing each user's account asset hash value in the leaves of the Merkle tree. Anyone can have an audited third-party organization verify the total user assets stored in the Merkle tree leaves, confirming whether their funds are included in the asset Merkle tree.
If the verified total ≥ 100%, it proves that the platform has properly preserved user funds, representing a 100% reserve backing for the corresponding assets.
