In the crypto world, when it comes to privacy, many people's first reaction is "gray area." This stereotype needs to be changed.
Look at how traditional finance handles it—your bank account balance is secret, the counterparties of fund transactions are not exposed to the sunlight, and large institutions are even less likely to settle on a network with "full transparency of the ledger." Privacy there has always been standard, not optional.
This logic also applies to blockchain. However, in the past, privacy coins mostly took the route of "complete anonymity," with Monero and Zcash being typical examples. What was the result? Exchanges keep their distance, and compliance departments draw red lines.
Dusk's approach is different. It doesn't require complete invisibility but "controllable transparency"—data is hidden but can be verified within regulatory or compliance frameworks. This way, exchanges can accept it, securities institutions can use it, and asset management companies don't have to worry about compliance risks.
Take it a step further—traditional assets like stocks, bonds, funds, and real estate income rights could, in the future, circulate in such a network in a privacy-preserving manner. That would be true large-scale application, not just a playground for a few tech enthusiasts.
For blockchain to evolve from a playground for retail investors into a foundational financial infrastructure, privacy must go from being an "optional feature" to a "necessary ticket." Dusk is one of the earliest and most clearly positioned pioneers on this track.
